A civils contractor needed a Volvo EWR130E wheeled excavator and full operator support pack on a live highways project in West Wales within a five-working-day window. The machine, attachments, ground-protection mats and operator briefing pack were on site and in operation by Thursday morning, four working days from the original Friday enquiry.
The Challenge
The client had an excavator booked from a hire desk that ran into a transport delay on the original delivery: the machine was held in Yorkshire while the project programme had no slack. They needed a like-for-like replacement, plus the same attachment package (tilting hitch, ditching bucket, breaker), delivered to a rural site with restricted access by the start of the following week.
What We Did
We sourced a low-hours Volvo EWR130E from our preferred dealer network in the South West, fitted the matching attachment package, ran a full inspection and LOLER certification at our Bridgend yard, and arranged low-loader delivery for the Thursday. Our driver completed the operator handover and walkaround inspection on site, and our regional service contact was introduced to the contractor’s site manager during the handover.

The Outcome
