We only collect personal information that you choose to give us. We do not buy contact data, and we do not build profiles of visitors who simply browse the site.

When you complete an enquiry form — a general contact, hire, parts, stock or attachments enquiry, or a call-back request — we collect the details you enter. Depending on the form, that may include:

- your telephone number
- your company name
- the equipment or service you are enquiring about
- anything else you choose to write in the message field
Please do not include sensitive personal information in a message field. We do not ask for it and we do not need it to answer an enquiry.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps server logs recording the IP address of requests, the pages viewed, the date and time, and basic browser information. These logs are used to keep the site running securely and are not used to identify individual visitors.
If you accept analytics cookies, we also use Google Analytics to measure how the site is used: pages viewed, how long visits last, approximate location by country or region, and the type of device and browser. This is measurement, not identification, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or to advertise to you. We do not send marketing emails from the information collected through this website unless you have asked us to. If we introduce a mailing list in future, we will ask for your consent first and every message will carry an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We share it only where we need to:
- with our website hosting and email providers, who process it on our instructions in order to run the site and deliver our mail
- with Google, as our analytics provider, but only if you have accepted analytics cookies
- with a manufacturer or supplier, where answering your enquiry means checking availability, a specification or a warranty on your behalf
- with our professional advisers, or with a regulator or law enforcement body, where we are required to do so by law
Where a provider stores or processes information outside the UK, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an order — kept for up to two years, so we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us, then deleted.
- Customer records — kept for the life of the relationship and then for six years, to cover contractual claims and our tax and accounting obligations.
- Server logs — kept for a short period by our hosting provider and then overwritten.
Your rights
Under data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete information where we no longer have a good reason to keep it
- ask us to restrict how we use your information, or object to us using it on the basis of our legitimate interests
- ask us to transfer information you gave us to another provider, where that applies
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we relied on consent
