Industrial Warehouse Fit-Out

A new-build 8,000 m² distribution warehouse needed a full materials-handling specification (fleet, charging infrastructure, driver training and ongoing service cover) designed and delivered before the operational go-live date. We worked alongside the client’s operations team for five months and handed over a fully commissioned fleet two weeks ahead of schedule.

The Challenge

The warehouse is a high-bay racked design with very narrow aisle (VNA) operations on the upper levels and mixed counterbalance work at ground floor. The client wanted a single supplier accountable for fleet specification, charging infrastructure design, driver certification, and a maintenance contract that scaled with their operational ramp-up over the first two years.

What We Did

We specified a mixed Toyota and Manitou fleet, designed the charging infrastructure around opportunity charging during shift breaks rather than overnight charge banks, and ran a three-week rolling RTITB driver-certification programme on site.

  • 4 × Toyota VNA man-up trucks for upper-bay operations
  • 6 × Toyota 8-Series counterbalance for ground-floor work
  • 2 × Manitou rough-terrain telehandlers for yard work
  • Opportunity-charging infrastructure (frees ~60 m² of floor space)
  • 12 drivers RTITB certified over a 3-week rolling programme
  • 4-year inclusive service contract with monthly uptime KPIs

The Outcome

Fleet was commissioned two weeks ahead of the operational go-live date. The client has remained on the inclusive service contract since handover, with a measured 99 % uptime month-on-month. A year-two fleet expansion added two further VNA trucks and a Manitou rotating telehandler for the yard.
